Transcend the ages atPhoto by BG Photography Castle Carnevale and at 9:00 witness an incredible Fire Performance. The party will feature a continuous variety of European style disco with the sounds of Randy "Bad Boy" Smith, DJ Kate, live music by 'Tasuma'. Other acts include Unifire (fire actors), Belly Dancers, Drum Circle, palmist, tarot readers as well as crafts and other exciting acts. Specialty foods, alcoholic beverages, Dancing, games and Revelry until 2am.

- Performance Descriptions -

DJ Randy "Bad Boy" Smith- DJ Randy "Bad Boy" SmithRandy Smith Electrifying the Crystal Garden Ballroom with a pulse pounding selection of booty-shakin’ beats is DJ Randy “Bad Boy” Smith. Bringing the tunes as well as the event’s pro sound equipment, DJ Randy’s diverse musical selection will keep Carnevale’s sexy costumed revelers out on the dance floor all night long.

Hellblinki- Hellblinki combines American folk and European cabaret with punk rock experimentation, guerrilla operatic, and a profound sense of the absurd. The live incarnation currently involves bandleader Andrew Benjamin, who sings and plays guitar, while simultaneously playing the drums with his feet; self-trained (and described) Guerrilla Operettist Valerie Meiss, who sings and plays accordion as well as eeking out additional noises and textures from various instruments and oddities; and Mr. JonPaul Hess, who, in addition to holding it all down with the Bass guitar, adds the scenic swells of grandiousity only a properly played Keytar can provide.

The Carolina Black Flaggers and mates- Black Flaggers!The Carolina Black Flaggers and their mates bring lusty lunacy and pyro-manical antics to (where else?) The Pyrate Bar. Having dropped anchor at Caribbean Carnevale, these ribald rapscallions are engaging patrons in sea shanties and drinking ballads while sharing tawdry tales of their high seas hi-jinks. BEWARE of bawdy behavior once aboard, The Pyrates are accustomed to sword fights, busty wenches and pillaging – Aaaaarrrrrgh! Show your Pyrate spirit or you may have to walk the plank!


The Descending Angel- Nikki Craven"Nikki Craven, aka "The Descending Angel", always delights an audience with her pole dancing skills and this night will be no exception! With her stage, platform heels, and gripping the chrome firmly between her thighs, she will flip and twirl to the amazement of the crowd. Don't miss this spectacle of strength and sensuality fused into one."





Unifire Theatre- Based in Asheville, NC, spectacularUnifire Unifire Theatre troupe combines fire arts and with the magic of stage. Each stunning show tells a tale that is woven with fire and enhanced by expert choreography, dance and costuming. You will be astounded at the skills these artist posses as they spin, juggle, breathe, toss, and eat fire while remaining completely unscathed. Unifire has performed for Castle Carnevale since our very first production and every year they offer us something new. We are ever so pleased to have them back again!

Foxy Moxy- Summer Carnivale's featured burlesque and cabaret performer,Foxy Moxy singer. Foxy Moxy was just voted "Triad's Best Burlesque 2010" by YES WEEKLY Magazine readers. Honors are topped by her recent international book cover appearance on Attilio Reinhardt's book, "Burlesque", published in Italy. She has thrilled audiences with winning charm in highly diverse venues, from "Burning Man" to a formal wedding to an audience made up entirely of nudists! Foxy Moxy is thrilled to return to merry-making as the saucy "Head Pirate Wench" this year... sign up early for the VIP Pirate Nobility Feast to catch exclusive, bawdy, wise-cracking performance antics!!! Foxy says, "Avast Ye! Secure those VIP medallions right away to join ME and I'll treat you to some REAL Pirate Booty!"



Zany Umbrella Circus- Pittsburgh, PA - based ZanyZany Umbrella Circus Umbrella Circus has thrilled audiences the world over with breathtaking aerial artistry! Members Ben Sota and Erin Carey perform a sinuously sexy acrobatic duet high above their captivated crowd. This beautifully talented twosome doesn’t look down and neither will you! Performing shows on corde lisse (aerial rope), silks and trapeze inside the “Courtyard Tent”, these daring dancers defy gravity from heat-wave inducing heights.


EXURO Entertainment- Kara Chambers & Jacob FelderExuro of EXURO Entertainment will captivate your senses with their dynamic cirque style duo of acrobatic balancing! Living Brush- Living Brush artist, Scott Fray’s bodyKane Krueger Newly-minted 2010 World Bodypainting Festival Champion Scott Fray was already indisputably the best in the US after the 2010 North American Championships but has now returned from Europe ranked second in the World! The competitive Team LivingBrush, comprised ofPin-up extraordinaire Ashanti Jennings Scott and partner Madelyn "Foxy Moxy" Greco also have held a Guinness World Record in bodypainting since 2007. For this year's Summer Carnivale, Scott will transform two already stunning models into creatures of extraordinary fancy:- living, breathing works of art! LivingBrush seeks to celebrate the body with decoration, incorporating tribal information as old as recorded culture with delightful colors that dance across their living canvasses. Scott will be painting 2 gorgeous bare models, Burlesque and pin-up extraordinaire Ashanti Jennings and Kane Krueger.

Tasuma- Tasuma plays traditional and originalTasuma instrumental West-African music. The talented duo consists of Will Ridenour on kora and Sandy Blocker on percussion. They lead the Carnevale drum circle and incorporate guest musicians creating a powerful and most unforgettable vibe. We are proud to showcase such talent annually!

Dool Dee- "Dool Dee “Queen of the Charleston Burlesque Scene”Dolly Macabre is the sassiest little living dead dolly south of the Mason-Dixon. She is not only the founder and director of Charleston, SC's Bizarro Burlesque and Charleston Burlesque Fest, but also a pin-up model, a costume designer, a skater, and an editor! You can find this little vixen shimmying her way across the globe with tantalizing tease and kitty kat style."

DJ Mr (Conway) Jennings- is one of the founders of "Bounce" podcast, and of the founders of the "Party Liberation Front" (PLF). After seven years of classical piano and five years of trombone, Jennings dove into the art of deejaying at age 16. His deep involvement in fire spinning pushed him to dig deeper for stronger rhythms to guide his motion. Hailing from Richmond Virginia, Mr Jennings brings a diverse blend of bassed out electronic music. With a strong foundation in house and electro, he is always seeking out new styles to add to his sound, ranging from world rhythms to hip hop to dubstep and back again. Energy flow and crowd communication are the key inspirations for his mixing and choice of music."


DJ Kate- Rips up the dance floor annually at CastleDJ Kate Carnevale. He mixes dark synth sounds with deep bass and playful vocals. He has played all over the East Coast, and it is a treat to have him as a Carnevale resident! Kate is unique in he has mastered many styles of music.


DJ Joy and DJ Midnightt-- will absorb you into the,DJ Joy and DJ Midnightt shadows of this sparkling Carnevale night offering a diverse range of dance tunes from eighties new wave goth, to German darkwave, to beats from the London synth and futurepop scene, plus a dash of Steampunk for spice. They will keep the music (and you) throbbing and, underneath your mask, perhaps even blushing. DJ Midnightt hosts The Garden of Good and Evil on WQFS 90.9FM Tuesdays from 8-10pm, where she's been spinning for 8 years. DJ Joy shares the decks with his wife when he's not playing Flaming Bagpipes or co-organizing Club Profusion (www.profusion.ws) a sporadic goth club in the Triad since '04.
